Maurene Donner is a career educator with over 31 years of experience with the District, first begining her teaching career here in 1987. She served as Principal of College and Santa Ynez Schools since 2010. During her Principalship, the schools were recognized as California Distinguished Schools, Federal Title One Achieving Schools and Statewide Gold Ribbon Schools.

Mrs. Maurene Donner, won the Santa Barbara County 2022 Crystal Apple Educator Award as an Administrator. The Crystal Apple Administrator of the Year Award was given to Mrs. Donner for her dedication, her ability to motivate others, and for the work she does that inspires students.

Mrs. Donner comes from a family of educators. Her mother was an elementary teacher in Santa Barbara. Her father, Maury Halleck, was a revered San Marcos High School teacher and coach for over 30 years, the San Marcos gymnasium being named in his honor. He was recognized at his memorial in 2016. Mrs. Donner offers considerable educational experience and background and looks forward to her continued work with teachers, staff, and parents.
